Scott Stuber

Scott Stuber is an acclaimed producer and award-winning studio executive who has spent decades redefining how films are created, distributed, and experienced. He is currently in a multi-year partnership with Amazon MGM Studios to relaunch the historic United Artists and to finance and release movies from his new production company. Recent projects from Stuber include Guillermo del Toro's "Frankenstein" for Netflix, which won three Academy Awards®.

From 2017 to 2024, Stuber served as chairman of Netflix Films. Credited with transforming Netflix's expansive film slate, he oversaw the acquisition, development, or production of Netflix's biggest and most beloved movies, including titles like Alfonso Cuarón's Academy Award®-winning "Roma," Martin Scorsese's "The Irishman," and Jane Campion's "The Power of the Dog."

Under Stuber's leadership, Netflix was the most nominated studio at the Academy Awards® for three consecutive years (2020, 2021, 2022), solidifying its reputation as a home for visionary filmmakers whose artistry would be supported rather than constrained by traditional commercial expectations.

Prior to his time at Netflix, Stuber founded and ran Bluegrass Films, which produced such hits as "Ted," "Central Intelligence," and "Safe House," among many others.

In 2024, it was announced that Stuber would join Amazon MGM Studios to relaunch the historic United Artists brand – the company instrumental in producing such films as "Apocalypse Now," "12 Angry Men," and "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly."

A proud University of Arizona alumnus, Stuber studied in the then-media arts department – now part of the School of Theatre, Film and Television – and received the College of Fine Arts Professional Achievement Award in 2010 for his rising influence.

Throughout his career, Stuber has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to producing films of cultural significance meant not only to entertain, but to endure.
