APRIL 3, 2020
We have heard tremendous student and stakeholder feedback this week – thank you all for your energy and commitment. Our team continues evaluating what a postponed main ceremony could look like in the future and preparing for the streaming graduation experience on May 15, 2020. We know times are still uncertain but the message is clear, the Class of 2020 will be honored in a combination of ways and we hope you will join us for any and all of them! Check back Friday, April 10, 2020, for more updates.
MARCH 27, 2020
We have received over 500 responses on the survey sent to the campus community in the past week and have been using it, along with other stakeholder feedback, to guide our planning efforts under these new and ever-changing circumstances. We are also consulting with student leadership and campus partners to develop a combination of options so the Class of 2020 can celebrate their achievements together, as soon as it is safe to do so.
First and foremost, our team is working with stakeholders to evaluate possibilities for an in-person ceremony celebrating the Class of 2020 at a later date. However, we realize some students will not be able to return to participate in person; they deserve a suitable send-off. On May 15, 2020, a live-stream experience will occur, designed for graduates and their guests to gather and tune in together. While we understand virtual options are far less appealing in concept, we will not let those students' moment pass without recognition.
We will continue to evaluate this challenge as a community and be ready to adjust plans as dictated by the spread of the coronavirus. We are 100% committed to providing the best possible experience for you. Check back each Friday for updates, or contact our planning team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Compassion. Adaptability. Determination.
