Your Graduate's Big Day

Commencement will be full of special moments as student leaders, university administrators, and a keynote speaker address the graduating Class of 2024. There is a lot to enjoy, as well as an exciting finale immediately following the ceremony!

Entry & Ticketing

  • This year’s Commencement Ceremony will begin at 7:30pm and will last approximately 90 minutes. 
  • All gates will open to the public at 6:30pm. (Subject to change)
  • Tickets are NOT required for guests. Students wishing to attend in-person must RSVP, as tickets are required for their entry. 
  • Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend arriving early to secure the best viewing experience. 

Venue Policies

The University of Arizona’s 2024 Commencement will enforce game-day rules at all guest entrances. Security reserves the right to determine the method of checks as deemed necessary. All guests must abide by the UA's clear bag policy for entry into the stadium. No large bags, backpacks, or parcels will be permitted. All in-hand items must be placed in the appropriate and approved clear bag. Please see the link below for more information or visit the UA BookStores website to purchase one today.

Shuttles and Getting to the Stadium

  • A detailed event parking diagram is on the way! Please see the Commencement Parking page for more information.
  • CatTran buses are wheelchair accessible and will provide transportation to the stadium, with pickups at 1st Street and Martin, 1st Street between Cherry Avenue and Warren Avenue, 1st Street and Vine Avenue, and 2nd Street Garage.
  • Golf cart service will be available from 6th Street Garage to Gate 8 and Cherry Garage to Gate 6.

Disability Access

The ceremony will be captioned and ASL Interpreters will be provided for guests and graduates.

  • Wheelchair-accessible seating for guests
  • Guest seating with minimal steps

Service animals are permitted in Arizona Stadium. If an animal is not trained to perform specific tasks related to a disability and only provides comfort or emotional support, it will not be permitted.

Weather, Live Streaming, & Additional Information

  • Because the ceremony is outside, be sure to check the weather forecast and prepare accordingly. Small umbrellas are permitted. Drink plenty of water, dress appropriately, and use sunscreen as necessary.
  • Those who are unable to attend or choose to stay home for the ceremony may stream the event live The link to the livestream will be available on the Commencement website on the day of the ceremony.
  • Flowers are available to order online in advance, with pickup on site the day of Commencement. The same products will also be available on site, however, ordering ahead of time guarantees your selection of color/size. For more details, please visit here.
  • Balloons and view-obstructing banners are NOT permitted in the stadium.
  • Seat backs will be available for rental inside the stadium.
  • Please be advised that the celebration will include loud music, fireworks, strobe lights, fog effects as well as fast paced video content on large led screens. While these may occur at any time during the event, those with sensitivities are especially advised to consider exiting the stadium during the recessional when the platform party leaves the stage.

Student Information

  • Students will receive QR code tickets via their CatMail address approximately 24 hours prior to the event. Printed tickets will not be provided. Graduates are expected to arrive in regalia and have tickets ready for scanning. All students must arrive by 6:30pm in order to guarantee a seat.
  • Undergraduate students participating in the ceremony must enter through the undergraduate entrance at 4th Street and Vine, behind the Main Library.
  • Graduate students participating in the ceremony must check-in at the Davis Sports Center east of Arizona Stadium. 
  • Photographers will be available at student-check in. If that is something you want, it is the student’s responsibility to make sure their picture is taken.
