Eligibility
Attending a convocation or commencement ceremony does not mean you have graduated – only meeting all requirements for your degree will guarantee your official degree completion. Be sure to reach out to your advisor with questions, or visit the Office of the Registrar.
Graduating in December? If so, you can participate in the Commencement Ceremony either immediately before or after your expected graduation date – but not both, please.
Undergraduate Students
Graduation Services in the Office of the Registrar is your one-stop shop for graduation eligibility. Deadlines to apply for graduation are February 1 in spring and September 1 in the fall, with a $50 application fee and a $50 late fee, so follow the link to go through the process today.
Graduate Students
For degree certification, consult with your Graduate College Degree Counselor.
Professional Students
Students completing the MD, PharmD, JD and DVM should connect with their respective colleges for degree completion requirements.
Names Listed in the Program
The program for May 2025 will contain the names of the following degree recipients and applicants: Fall 2024/Winter 2024 (awarded), Spring 2025 (applied), Summer 2025 (applied).
So if your degree was awarded in December 2024, your name will be in the May 2025 program, and if you have applied to graduate in August 2025, your name will also appear in the May 2025 program.
In order for your name to appear in the program, you must meet the graduation application deadlines, and you must release the FERPA name restriction for printing consideration (checkbox in the graduation application).
